Why DIY? The Future of DIY Club Culture

In the "Why DIY? The Future of DIY Club Culture" panel at the National Gallery, alongside Michael Caffrey and Seiiizi, with Rachel Weldon moderating, we explored DIY club culture's significance in Ottawa-Gatineau. This conversation highlighted the grassroots nature of DIY culture, its challenges, and its potential for fostering community and innovation. Drawing on my experience with TIMEKODE and CKCU-FM, I discussed the value of nurturing local arts through DIY practices. The panel provided insights into how these communities contribute to a vibrant cultural landscape, emphasizing mutual support and creativity. This was an opportunity to reflect on DIY culture's role in shaping our local arts ecosystem and engaging with the community through a following Q&A session.
